Henry R. Perea and Lee Brand, the two men running in the November election to be Fresno’s next mayor, will face off Tuesday in a broadcast debate.
The event will be at Pardini’s Catering and Banquets, 2257 W. Shaw Ave. It begins at 4:06 p.m. on Fresno radio station PowerTalk 96.7 FM and 1400 AM. The two-hour debate is co-sponsored by The Bee.
Moderating will be PowerTalk host Trevor Carey. Asking questions will be John Ellis, Bee political reporter; Bill McEwen, The Bee’s opinion page editor; and Larry Powell, former county superintendent of schools and host of the PowerTalk show “Good News.”
Among the topics to be covered are northeast Fresno’s water situation; police shootings and the future of Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer; the business friendliness of Fresno; and the candidates’ qualifications to lead the fifth-largest city in California.
