Brown administration says it’s willing to consider one-tunnel approach to Delta project

The Santa Clara Valley Water District voted October 17, 2017, to reject Gov. Jerry Brown’s plan to build two tunnels beneath the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, but said it would support a smaller, less expensive project. A top state official said the Brown administration is willing to consider such an approach.

Coming right down the chute at Oroville Dam spillway

Crews continue laying roller-compacted concrete in the middle of the Lake Oroville spillway, filling the erosion area to connect the upper and lower chutes in this update on the repairs at the dam. The state Department of Water Resources said last month that reconstruction of the spillway is on track to reach a Nov. 1 deadline.

Colgate’s Save Water campaign and Olympic gold medalist Michel Phelps want you to know this and how water scarcity still exists in many parts of the country. Phelps hosts "Tales of Two Minutes," a mini-documentary series that focuses on the effects of continuing drought. This clip focuses on Porterville and Tulare County. The series is available on Colgate's YouTube channel.
