Outdoor author and photographer Andy Selters of Bishop is scheduled to be in Fresno at 6 p.m. March 26 to share his multimedia documentary called “Mountains of the Blue Sheep,” about his expedition to previously unexplored areas at the northern tip of India.
His presentation is planned during the annual meeting of the Tehipite Chapter of the Sierra Club. The meeting will be at the First Congregational Church, 2131 North Van Ness Ave. The public is invited to the potluck dinner and social. The event is free, though an optional $2 donation is requested.
Selters’ teams discovered high passes and wildlife as they climbed and named several peaks above 20,000 feet. After the climbing, Selters documented life in an isolated village that had not hosted a Westerner before.
Selters has climbed and led treks throughout much of the Himalaya and Tibet. He is known as the author of mountaineering books. Among his work is “Ways to the Sky,” an award-winning history of North American mountaineering.
