More than 1,000 Fresno County students will compete Saturday in the Elementary Science Olympiad Competition at Sunnyside High School.
Students will compete in a series of team events in earth science, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering and technology. Students must use problem solving and research to solve various puzzles.
Teams will arrive at 8 a.m., and the competition begins at 9 a.m. The event will end with an awards ceremony at 1 p.m. in the main gym. The public is invited to view the events.
