Current and former members of Fresno High School’s Senate club will gather Saturday to celebrate the group’s 125th anniversary.
The event will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Pardini’s restaurant. The former club members will be joined by members of the U.S. Congress, the California State Senate and the Fresno Unified Board of Education. A video recorded by U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein will also be played.
The senate was established in 1890 and is one of the oldest continually active high school clubs in the country. It is primarily a debate club with strict rules and a rigid history of recording every minute of every meeting in a permanent log.
