These days students and their parents have an abundance of school choices — traditional neighborhood schools, home schooling, online instruction, and charter and private schools. For many parents, having a wide variety of school options means their children can enroll in an academic program that is suited to their specific needs. Online starting Friday and in Saturday’s print edition, The Bee’s Eye on Education will examine the range of choices available to Valley students, in stories, photos, videos, an interactive graphic and more. Previous issues of the quarterly section have put the spotlight on career technical education, technology in schools, early childhood education and the Local Control Funding Formula.
In June, Eye on Education will take a look at special education issues, including mainstreaming, teacher preparation and resources.
