Fresno State’s Henry Madden Library beat out USC and Ivy League schools Princeton, Yale and Cornell and cracked the top 25 in a national list that ranked the country’s best college and university libraries.
Noting its size, modern design and compact shelving, College Rank, an online college and university ranking service, ranked Henry Madden the 25th best college library in the nation.
Fresno State’s library opened in 1911 under the Fresno State Normal School. It was remodeled in 2009 with upgrades that featured more than 20 miles worth of compact shelving and a 40-foot-tall video screen of a Native American basket weaver.
