The Maddy Institute is giving more students in the Valley a chance to win its $56,000 fellowship award by extending the application deadline to March 20 at 5 p.m.
Valley students are eligible for the award if they are currently accepted to a nationally ranked graduate program in either public policy, public administration, urban planning, social welfare or business.
Students must be attending the college in the fall 2015 semester and be pursuing public service after graduation. Fellows must work for a local government entity, social service agency or nonprofit for at least two years in order to fulfill the fellowship requirements.
Applications are available at http://www.maddyinstitute.com. Interviews will begin in March, and the Maddy Institute will announce the fellows on April 3. Maddy Institute Legislative interns, as well as Kern and Kings County residents, will get special consideration.
