The Community Media Access Collaborative (CMAC) will accept applications from Fresno and Clovis high schools until April 17 for one of three sets of video equipment, valued at $75,000 collectively.
The grant is open to public, private and charter schools. Two winning schools will receive field production kits, valued at $20,000. One will receive a studio production kit, valued at $35,000. In exchange, the schools will produce 30-minute TV shows once a month for CMAC’s education channel on Comcast XFINITY and AT&T U-Verse cable systems.
Anyone interested in applying can download an application at www.cmac.tv/mapgrant or get one at CMAC’s studio at 1555 Van Ness Ave. CMAC will host an information workshop at its studio at 5:30 p.m. March 11 for schools seeking assistance with their applications.
The grant will go into effect beginning in fall 2015. Winners will be announced on May 18.
