The Maddy Institute is now accepting applications for two $56,000 fellowships for Valley students currently accepted to a nationally ranked graduate program in either public policy, public administration, urban planning, social welfare or business.
Students must be attending the college in the fall 2015 semester and must be planning to pursue public service after graduation. Fellows must work for a local government entity, social service agency or nonprofit for at least two years in order to fulfill the fellowship requirements
The two-year fellowship will distribute $25,000 in the first year, $6,000 during the summer and $25,000 in the second year. Recipients are expected to work on local community projects over the summer.
Applications are available at http://www.maddyinstitute.com/ and are due by Feb. 27. Interviews will begin in March, and the Maddy Instutite will announce the fellows on April 3. Maddy Institute Legislative interns, as well as Kern and Kings County residents, will get special consideration.
