Fresno State’s annual professor lecture series kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday and will feature presentations on narrative storytelling and the Armenian Genocide.
The series, Fresno State Talks, begins with journalism professor Jes Therkelsen’s presentation, “The stories we weave, the stories we believe and the stories we leave behind,” and continues every Thursday through Feb. 26.
Education leadership professors Ignacio and Susana Hernandez will give a joint presentation Feb. 19 on their personal experiences as the first in their families to pursue college. Sergio La Porta, a professor in the school’s Armenian Studies Program, will speak Feb. 26 on the effects of the Armenian Genocide.
The speakers were nominated by students and selected by a student-run committee. All lectures will be held in the Satellite Student Union.
