Police had many questions early Saturday morning about a shooting in central Fresno.
Lt. Rob Beckwith said officers responded to the Bridlewood Apartments on Dakota Avenue just east of Fruit Avenue around 11 p.m. where they found a man possibly in his early 20s with a single gunshot wound to his lower torso.
It’s not clear what led up to the shooting; Beckwith said the injury could be self-inflicted. He said there were people with the victim who left just before police arrived.
“There are still a lot of pieces that have to be put together to figure out exactly what happened,” Beckwith said.
Never miss a local story.
The man was listed in critical but stable condition Friday night. Detectives were on scene interviewing neighbors.
