Fresno police detained three men in their 20s after shots were fired Thursday morning in a central Fresno neighborhood.
Lt. Joe Gomez said the gunshots broke out after about 10 people were fighting in the street near Princeton Avenue and Bond Street, near the major intersection of First Street and Shields Avenue shortly before noon. It appeared that the shots were fired in the air and not at a person.
The group then dispersed and three of the men ran to the home on the northwest corner of Princeton and Bond. When officers arrived, the three at first refused to come out and a police dog was sent in to force the last person out.
Gomez said officers did not find a gun and it was possible that someone fled with the weapon before police arrived. All three suspects were on parole.
