A 14-year-old boy was arrested Saturday in the Friday night stabbing at Regal Cinemas Manchester 16 in central Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said.
The stabbing happened around 10:20 p.m. at the theater. A 16-year-old was stabbed but the injuries were non-lethal, police said.
Witnesses told police that a fight broke out between a large group of youths, and one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.
On Saturday night, a woman contacted police and asked for her son – who she believed was present at the fight – to be interviewed.
During the interview, the boy admitted that not only was he there, but that he committed the crime, police said.
He was transported to Fresno County Juvenile Hall and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
The name of the suspect isn’t being released because of his age.
