Adell Vaughn III, 19, sought since January when Fresno police say he fired at two undercover officers, was taken into custody early Friday mornng in southwest Fresno. The arrest of Vaughn came only two days after a Crime Stoppers reward for his capture was raised to $5,000.His arrest took place after officers received a tip that he was in the 600 block of East Geary Street, near Edison High School. Officers from the Violent Crime Impact Team surrounded a home there and called on him to surrender. He was taken into custody without incident.Vaughn was sought on attempted murder charges after the January shooting, which police say took place while undercover officers in two unmarked cars were following a vehicle near McKinley and Chestnut avenues in east-central Fresno. The car was driven by Miles Banks, 18. Detectives reported that a passenger, later identified as Vaughn, fired a shot in the air and called for assistance. As they continued to follow, Vaughn allegedly fired at them. Detectives returned fire and rammed the car near Peach and Olive avenues, but the passenger escaped.
