  • Store clerks chase, then fight beer thief at Selma market

The Fresno County Sheriff's Department is searching for Cody Mathers, 19, who is suspected of grabbing two 12-packs of Corona beer, ducking down to hide from a store employee, then walking out. When store clerks gave chase, the thief sprinted to a waiting pickup and tossed the beer into the truck bed before he was grabbed by a store employee. After a brief scuffle, he dove headfirst through the window on the passenger side and the pickup took off. The theft occurred about 6:30 p.m. May 31 at Lee's Market in Selma.
