A Lemoore man was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse Saturday after hospital officials in Hanford reported to authorities that a 6-month-old boy was brought to the hospital with a fractured skull and tibia, police reported.
The suspect was identified by Lemoore police as Keith Jeff, 19.
A spokeswoman said the 27-year-old mother told officers she and Jeff had gone out and Jeff became intoxicated. When they returned home, Jeff removed the child from his crib and walked away from the home. A short time later, the mother recovered the infant and noticed the injuries.
Jeff was booked on a $50,000 bail. The child was transferred to Valley Children’s Hospital and is in an intensive care unit in stable condition.
