Three people who were arrested by police Monday in connection with a series of violent armed robberies in Fresno in mid-April are out on bail, according to Fresno County Jail records.
They are Michael Simpkins, Dwanya Pritchett and Jasmine Thomas, all 19. Sgt. Joe Martin said two of the three robberies were particularly violent. In one, the victim was pistol-whipped in front of his family; in another, several people were held hostage at gunpoint.
After police located a suspect vehicle, officers served search warrants in the 4000 block of North Fruit Avenue and the 300 block of West Dakota Avenue. Stolen property and firearms were seized and the three were arrested on firearms and robbery charges.
