A man was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly burglarizing and setting fire to the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Visalia Police Department said.
John Harrell, 24, was arrested at his residence on Wednesday night after an investigation into the April 17 burglary and fire led detectives to identify him as a suspect.
The fire at the chamber’s building at 1100 W. Main St. was reported at 4:11 p.m. It caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to the building and $40,000 to contents.
When detectives searched Harrell’s residence Wednesday, they found evidence from the burglary and arson, as well as from a burglary earlier that day at Old West Export in Visalia, police said.
