A Corcoran man is in jail after threatening to shoot his family, who fled in fear, police said.
Just before midnight Sunday, police went to the 900 block of Alder Avenue after getting a report that a man had been threatening to shoot his family.
A woman and her three children were standing in front of the home.
She told police he put bullets into his handgun in front of them and threatened to shoot them. She said he had the gun in his waistband.
Officers persuaded Vicente Sanchez, 38, to walk outside and he was arrested without incident.
Police found the loaded handgun in the home.
Sanchez admitted to loading the gun but denied he was going to harm them, police said.
Earlier, Sanchez had been driving recklessly with his family in the vehicle and the woman was injured, police said. She called a relative for help. She was later treated for the injuries.
Sanchez faces charges of making criminal threats, child endangerment and carrying a loaded firearm in public. He was booked at the Kings County Jail and held on $125,000 bail.
