A woman walking near Fresno State was attacked Tuesday afternoon by a man who police say demanded her belongings and brandished a weapon.
An alert sent to Fresno State students by university police said the woman was walking on the north side of Barstow Avenue near University Plaza on Cedar Avenue around 3 p.m. when the man got out of a vehicle and confronted her. After he showed her an undisclosed weapon, she ran and was not hurt.
The suspect got back into his vehicle and drove off. He was described as in his 40s or 50s with brown or silver hair. He was wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans and had a tattoo of wings on his neck and chest.
No description of his vehicle was given.
