The child was a passenger in the truck when the driver ran a stop sign on Bethel Avenue at Manning Avenue and struck a Dodge Challenger traveling on Manning about 5:45 p.m., said CHP Officer Marcus Pulley.
The drivers of both vehicles received minor injuries, Pulley said.
The child was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno and treated for severe to major injuries, said Pulley.
