Authorities arrested a 49-year-old man Wednesday after they found he was allegedly growing more than 1,000 marijuana plants inside his Clovis home.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Team searched a home on the 9100 block of East Herndon Avenue in Clovis, where they found about 176 pounds of harvested marijuana in a detached garage. Also found at the home were four cockfighting roosters locked in pens in the backyard.
The suspect, identified as Somsak Phouangkeo, was arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of marijuana cultivation and intent to sell. He also faces a misdemeanor charge for animal cruelty.
