The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating Randy James Lay, 55, for questioning about the suspicious disappearance of Fernando Subia, 46, of Fowler, in December.
Sheriff spokesman Tony Botti said that detectives learned that Lay may have been with Subia just days before Subia went missing. Lay is currently not a suspect in any crime.
Lay was described as 5 feet 11 inches and 160 pounds with red hair and blue eyes. Lay frequents Selma, Fowler and possibly Modesto, Botti said.
Subia was last seen near Clovis and Adams avenues in Fowler on Dec. 9. Botti called the disappearance “suspicious” and said that a $9,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Subia’s whereabouts.
