Reedley police arrested two juveniles Monday afternoon whose pursuit from law enforcement after they were allegedly caught trying to break into a home put two schools on lock down for safety precautions.
Police received a call about 2 p.m. about a burglary in progress at a home in the 100 block of West Palm Avenue. The owner of the home told officers who responded to the call he scared the two suspects away.
With the help of a California Highway Patrol helicopter, police found the juveniles hiding in a backyard. Nearby schools Reedley High and Lincoln Elementary were locked down during the search.
The juveniles, whose identities were not released because they are minors, were arrested and transported to Fresno County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of residential burglary.
