Visalia police used a stun gun to arrest a 36-year-old man who allegedly swung a metal pipe at officers after breaking into the roof of Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
Police said the suspect broke into the hospital’s helipad shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday. The man attacked a hospital security guard who told him to come down from the roof, and threatened officers.
Police used a stun gun to detain the suspect, identified as Bernardo Reyes, of Visalia. No one was injured, police said. It was unclear why Reyes broke into the hospital’s roof.
Reyes was booked into Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility for trespassing, resisting arrest and assault with a deadly weapon.
