Police are searching for two men they say tried to use a stolen and forged check for $3,200 at a southeast Fresno bank on Thursday.
A spokesman for the Fresno Police Department said that a surveillance camera captured the two men using the check around 5 p.m. at the Bank of America branch at 2611 S. Cedar Ave.
One suspect was identified as Sang Wook Chi, 44. The second man was described as Hispanic, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds with a mustache and goatee. Both men left the bank in a black Mitsubishi Montero SUV with black rims.
The forged check was stolen on April 17 during an armed robbery at Amigo’s Enterprises at 4449 E. Belmont Ave., police said.
