Police are investigating a Friday night shooting that left one man dead and another injured in southeast Fresno.
Two men in their 30s and 40s were shot inside the Ranchwood Condos complex off the 1100 block of South Winery Avenue about 9:30 p.m., Fresno police Sgt. Eddie Barrios said.
One man ran west to the AJ Liquors store on the corner of East Butler and South Chestnut avenues. Responding officers found the man with a gunshot wound and transported him to Community Regional Medical Center, where he is in stable condition, Barrios said. The second man was found dead inside the complex. Neither of the victims were identified Friday night.
Multiple houses were hit with gunfire during the shooting and officers were looking for a potential third victim, Barrios said, adding that there was confusion among police at first because of the multiple calls received from both the liquor store and condo complex.
Police have not made any arrests. Witnesses told police the suspect or suspects took off in a red vehicle.
The investigation is continuing.
