A Fresno-produced rap video recovered by police helped lead them to the arrest of a former Los Angeles gang member who is seen posing with guns in the the video.
Fresno police said the rap video they found during a March 9 search regarding two shootings prompted a mini gang operation involving several law enforcement agencies. Detectives reviewed the video and identified several gang members posing with guns as well as clues that indicated where the video was shot.
Police searched several Fresno locations on Thursday that yielded three gun seizures — and the arrest of Michael Ricks, a former gang member from Los Angeles and an ex-felon. Officers located Ricks at an apartment complex on the 100 block of East Dakota Avenue, where he admitted to owning one of the revolvers that was recovered by police.
Ricks was booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of gun possession.
