A chase on Highway 168 in Clovis on Saturday evening led to the arrest of a Bulldog gang member who allegedly attempted to evade Fresno police in a stolen vehicle.
Fresno police said the chase started about 6:40 p.m. when Violent Crime Impact Team officers near North First Street and East Princeton Avenue saw a stolen 1998 Ford Explorer being driven. The driver of the Ford Explorer immediately took off toward Highway 168 — ignoring red traffic lights along the way — as soon as he spotted police.
The suspect was driving on the highway at fast speeds during the chase, which involved a helicopter. The driver abandoned the vehicle near the Bullard Avenue exit on Highway 168 and attempted to run away.
The Fresno Police Department, with help from the Clovis Police Department and Fresno County Sheriff’s Department, used search dogs to find the suspect, who was hiding inside the garage of a nearby apartment.
