A man was stabbed on Thursday during an eight-person brawl near a southeast Fresno intersection, police said.
Fresno police Lt. Joe Gomez said the 19-year-old victim was rushed to surgery at Community Regional Medical Center, where his injuries were deemed not life-threatening.
An investigation indicated the melee began about 1:40 p.m. when a group of women started fighting near the McDonald’s on the corner of Kings Canyon Road and Barton Avenue. Several men joined in on the fight, which eventually moved to the intersection at Mono and Barton avenues.
During the fight, Gomez said a 40-year-old man stabbed the teenager. Police are not releasing the identities of the victim or the suspect at this point in the investigation.
