When police stopped a car that turned out to be a stolen, two people were arrested, the Visalia Police Department said Tuesday.
Just after midnight Tuesday, an officer made a traffic stop at Ben Maddox Way and Goshen Avenue for an equipment violation, police said.
A check showed the vehicle was reported stolen Monday.
Police found a handgun with the serial numbers filed off in a front dashboard compartment.
Driver Osvaldo Garcia, 20, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a concealed firearm and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
Passenger Anna Cortez, 28, was arrested on outstanding warrants. Both were booked at the Tulare County Pretrial Facility.
