A man is under arrest on an arson charge after his house was set afire, the Visalia Fire Department said Monday.
Visalia police identified him as Joshua Morel, 34, of Visalia.
About 3 p.m. Sunday, a fire broke out at 2645 W. Dorothea Ave.
Visalia police said Morel had gotten into domestic dispute with his wife. When she left the home, he poured gasoline in a bedroom and bathroom and started a fire, Sgt. Damon Maurice said.
Police and fire fighters saw him running away and officers arrested him in the 900 block of Victor Avenue.
It took about 25 minutes to put out the fire.
The house, valued at $155,000, had about $100,000 in damage and $25,000 in damage to contents. A pickup truck in the garage was saved.
