The National Criminal Enforcement Association gave the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office an award this week for a drug investigation in 2014, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office said.
Spokesman Tony Botti said the association praised the sheriff’s office for a methamphetamine bust made last September.
Narcotics detectives first located 11 pounds of methamphetamine in a hidden compartment of a vehicle during a traffic stop, Botti said. Sheriff’s detectives then found an additional 62 pounds of finished crystal methamphetamine and nine gallons of liquid methamphetamine during the search of a related home. Three suspects were arrested.
Sheriff Margaret Mims accepted the award at the National Interdiction Conference in Virginia Beach.
