Fresno County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the shooting and wounding of a cow and a bull in the Squaw Valley area.
The incident happened Feb. 26 in the 40000 block of Ruth Hill Road. A Charolais bull and a Black Angus heifer were stuck by small bullets. The animals did not need medical attention and are expected to be all right.
Jenna Hall, the owner of the heifer, said it is the first time such an incident has happened in the area to her knowledge.
“It could have been a kid going by with his .22 [rifle], taking a few pot shots,” she said.
