A woman whose baby boy died from being scalded by hot bath water pleaded no contest Wednesday to one count of second-degree murder, the Tulare County District Attorney said.
Jennifer Granberg, 28, of Visalia, will be sentenced next month to 15 years to life in state prison, prosecutors said.
Meanwhile, her companion, Christopher Harris, 28, pleaded no contest last week to one count of voluntary manslaughter. He will be sentenced to 11 years in state prison.
The incident happened April 15, 2012, in the couple’s bathtub. They delayed calling for help and the baby died from the injuries, prosecutors said.
The couple, who had recently moved to Visalia from the Seattle area, gave inconsistent versions of what happened. They have been in jail since their arrests.
