Fresno County sheriff’s deputies recovered a stolen Ruger handgun and arrested two teenagers after a pursuit that ended in a crash Friday in Calwa.
Spokesman Tony Botti said the incident began when a deputy tried to make a traffic stop at Golden State Boulevard and Jensen Avenue. The driver of a pickup sped away and crashed a short time later on Calwa Avenue near Cedar Avenue.
The 17-year-old driver was booked on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, evading officers and driving without a license. A 16-year-old passenger was booked on charges of carrying a concealed weapon. Both were also booked for gang enhancements.
