Kings County sheriff’s deputies recovered a stolen boat and trailer Saturday after a traffic stop, spokesman Dave Putnam reported.
Deputies made a traffic stop at Seventh and Clinton avenues, near Burris Park northeast of Hanford, about 7:30 p.m. Friday and spotted suspicious property in the back of a truck driven by Buddy Smith of Kingsburg. The items had been taken in a Kingsburg burglary that had not been reported.
Putnam said a deputy contacted the owner, who realized Saturday that his boat and trailer were also missing. Those items were also returned after a follow-up investigation.
Smith was booked into the Kings County Jail.
