Brianna Ramirez, 16, has been released from the hospital after she was shot in the right eye Feb. 12 near her Parlier home, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday afternoon.
During a news conference last week, Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims said Ramirez was caught in the crossfire of what was likely a gang shooting in the area of Tuolumne and Fett streets and that it doesn’t appear the girl or her mother were targeted. Ramirez was riding in the passenger’s seat of her mother’s car when she was shot.
No details have been released about possible suspects. Mims previously announced a $9,000 reward is available for information leading to an arrest.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call detective Hector Palma at (559) 600-8204 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP, where tips can be made anonymously.
