A man and a woman were arrested early Monday on charges of carjacking and robbery in connection with the abduction and assault of a man Sunday night, police reported.
Arturo Acosta, 23, and Sarah Arellano, 19, were booked into Fresno County Jail with bail set at nearly $100,000, according to jail records.
A police spokesman said the victim, 26, told officers he offered the woman a ride to the 3700 block of North Feland Avenue. When he parked his 1992 Honda Accord in the area, he was struck on the head and dragged into an abandoned residence, where he was tied up, assaulted and robbed of his money, car keys and cellular phone, police said.
The victim was able to free himself and contacted police. Officers saw the car early Monday in the 700 block of North Parkway Drive and arrested Acosta and Arellano, who were identified by the victim.
