A Coalinga man was arrested Saturday after police found spools of copper wiring valued at $1,000 at his home, the Coalinga Police Department said.
Officers searched the home of Shelby Smith, 20, after receiving a tip about stolen property. They were able to trace the wire to a local business, which was unaware its property had been stolen.
Smith was jailed on suspicion of grand theft and a parole violation.
