A Cutler gang member was sentenced on Tuesday to 39 years in state prison for a shooting he committed in 2011, Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward said.
Luis Becerra, 22, fired two shots at a rival gang member in the early morning of May 1, 2011, Ward said. Becerra and a fellow gang member drove to the rival’s home, where Becerra fired several shots into the rival’s garage.
Ward said Becerra was arrested later that night and confessed to being the shooter. He pleaded no contest to a criminal street gang and an attempted murder charge in December.
