A man was arrested Saturday night for allegedly breaking several classroom windows and stealing electronics from Columbia Elementary School in southwest Fresno, police said.
Fresno police Sgt. Jordan Beckford said that officers saw Jose Cerna-Manzo, 21, smash the window of a portable classroom and climb in. Police surrounded the school and arrested Cerna-Manzo, who attempted to run away with several laptops and other electronic items belonging to the school.
Police determined that two classrooms were broken into. One was ransacked for electronic items, Beckford said. Police recovered all stolen school property at the scene.
Cerna-Manzo, who had several outstanding warrants for burglary, was booked into Fresno County Jail on multiple burglary charges.
