A man sought in connection with several armed robberies in Orange Cove was arrested Tuesday night after he was taken into custody on domestic violence charges in Fresno, police reported.
Fresno police Lt. Joe Gomez said Marcos Rodriguez, 19, was arrested near Sierra and Blackstone avenues in connection with an attack on a man with a tire iron earlier in the day. The attack happened at a motel in the 3800 block of North Blackstone Avenue.
After officer Matt Pantages took Rodriguez into custody, he learned from people at the scene of the assault that Rodriguez was wanted in connection with the Orange Cove robberies.
Gomez said Pantages identified other suspects sought in the robberies and called in Orange Cove police detectives.
