Two men were arrested on suspicion of robbing a woman after Hanford police tracked the woman’s stolen cell phone to a home in the Tulare County community of Goshen.
About 11 p.m. Saturday, the two men pulled their pickup truck behind the 21-year-old woman as she was trying to get into her car at a parking lot on the 100 block of North 12th Avenue in Hanford, police said. One man grabbed the victim’s purse and shoved her to the ground before jumping back into the truck, which fled the scene.
Officers were able to find the two suspects by tracking the woman’s stolen cell phone to the home in Goshen.
Joseph Allen Hughes, 37, ran from the house and was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, conspiracy, and interfering with a police officer. Hughes’ cousin, Charles Lee Rowan, 35, was also at the house and was arrested on robbery and conspiracy charges.
