A man was shot late Thursday night in southeast Fresno, police said.
Sgt. Tony Bustos said the man, who was not identified, was shot once in the back at his home at the corner of Butler Avenue and Fourth Street about 10 p.m. The man was working at a liquor store adjacent to his house but had left the store and walked home for an unknown reason.
The man was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center with what Bustos said was a serious injury, and his status is unknown.
Police were working to determine what motivated the crime or if anything was stolen from the store or the victim's home.
