Two Hanford women were arrested Friday morning on suspicion of stealing a car, Hanford police said.
A Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen around 8 a.m. in the 2000 block of Franklin Way in Hanford. Police located the vehicle around 9:20 a.m. near 2nd Place and Houston Avenue. They watched as Deondria Prosser, 41, climbed in the car and drove off. Police pulled her over and she admitted she knew the vehicle was stolen and said she was attempting to hide it at another location. Witnesses told police the vehicle had been dropped off at the location by Ariane Natividad, 36, who was then arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.
Prosser and Natividad were both booked into the Kings County Jail and face charges for vehicles theft, possession of stolen property and conspiring to conceal a stolen vehicle.
