Clovis police say two men brazenly walked into a market during business hours and stole 40 bottles of vitamin pills. It was all caught on surveillance video.
Police haven’t identified them and don’t recognize them as local crooks, said Clovis police service officer Ty Wood. Maybe they’re traveling thieves, he said.
It’s also unclear why they’re stealing vitamins. “Maybe they’re selling them on eBay or the Internet,” Wood said.
The first theft at Sprouts Farmers Market took place about 9 a.m. Nov. 23. The same store got hit again on Nov. 30, police said. Both heists happened on a Thursday, which make police wonder if they’re traveling up and down Highway 99 on a regular schedule, he said.
Never miss a local story.
Police released a video showing the two men taking bottles of pills on Nov. 23. Video from the second theft isn’t ready yet.
The store told police it lost $4,800 from the thefts. It’s unclear if that’s the value of the pills, or the pills plus other costs from the thefts.
If the men are identified and arrested they’ll be charged with felony grand theft, police said.
