A former Miss Fresno County was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
Kelsey Schulteis, who was Miss Fresno County in 2016, was also cited for resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer.
The incident began around 1:20 a.m. Sunday when officers got a call of of two drunk men near North Spalding and East Menlo avenues in northeast Fresno. When officers arrived, they found two people, a man and Schulteis, looking at a parked car that was damaged, possibly from a recent collision.
Police said Schulteis immediately showed symptoms that she was drunk, to the point of not being able to care for herself. Then she became belligerent with the officers and uncooperative.
During her arrest, Schulteis resisted officers’ efforts to detain her. Police said she was held at the county jail until she sobered up and was released about 7:20 a.m.
The man at the scene was questioned and released.
Attorney Marc Kapetan, who is representing Schulteis, said his law firm has not been given any official reports about the incident.
