Fresno Police are investigating a shooting during an alleged robbery that left one person injured on Monday morning in southeast Fresno.
At around 7:15 a.m. officers responded to a report of a commercial robbery at Calwa Recycling on Barton Avenue and Church Avenue. A 35-year-old employee was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his hip.
Two employees were working at the recycling center when a charcoal-gray vehicle pulled up, police said. Two suspects exited the vehicle and began to attempt to rob the employees. As one of the suspects was trying to get a cash box, one of the employees began to struggle. The other suspect then shot the employee and the two suspects fled.
The victim was taken to Community Medical Regional Center with a non-life threatening wound.
